This is a very interesting and informative video that shows what it is like to live in a container that has been repurposed to provide affordable housing in the NYC area.
The video features Jewelry-maker/photographer Katherine Coates, who lives in a stacked container community in Queens, NY. Her container does not have running water, so she created a kitchen relying on a water filter and drinking water collected from a Long Island spring. For a bathroom, she uses a community bathroom located in a separate container.
Though their living environments are totally different, elements of how Ms. Coates lives reminds me of Shawn James, of My Self Reliance, who lives with his family in a cabin he built in the Canadian wilderness.
Check out the video for more of how Ms. Coates utilizes her container living/working space!
